February Program Features Bill Varney
The San Antonio Herb Society is proud to host Bill Varney of URBANherbal who will discuss growing herbs in small places, ways to harvest them and unique ways to use what you have grown. Here are some thoughts from Bill's website:
We are learning and rediscovering what we owe to plants and respecting them and in some cases worshiping them again.
Plants are, after all, the basis for our life and our continuing life-support system.
Herb. Whats in a name we cherish? The plants we call "herbs" come from the Latin word herba, meaning "green crops." Generally aromatic or fragrant, whose parts, whether leaf, flower, seed or root, are useful to mankind for food, flavoring, medicine, household and cosmetic!
The meeting is Thursday, February 9th at 6:30 P.M. at the San Antonio Garden Center, 3310 N. New Braunfels, and is free and open to the public.
